My guess is if you're beach diving you should be ok. Winds are showing out of the east so it should be calm at the beach.

I'm not there yet so i can't say for sure but the webcam at the crows nest looks like east winds.

Good luck. Let us know how you do if you go.

@Ghost95 Thank you so much for the info. I looked at the Sharkys webcam and it looked good so we are on our way! (2 hour drive, hence why I wanted to be sure of conditions).

I will post a report later.

I am so glad I went diving today! We had a great time.

I saw someone else already in the water diving once we got to the beach (they had a red surface Float and flag, we had a yellow float). Sea conditions were perfect for the first dive. Flat seas and the water looked beautiful. Underwater the Viz wasn't great, but not terrible. You could see a few feet. Certainly enough to look for teeth. We found a lot of small teeth, a few fossils, and what I think is my first meg tooth (albeit only half of one!). We also found a lot of dead sand dollars. About ten minutes after we exited the water the wind picked up, and the waves started to rise. There was a lot of chop and I was on the fence about doing a second dive. I went for it and it was ok but way more work than what it was worth. I burned most of my air just getting out there, and ended up with a 15 minute surface swim back in the waves!

All in all though a great day! I love shark tooth hunting in Venice! Next time I think I will bring my kayak and try and get further out, and maybe try some of the other spots. I really want to find my first complete megalodon tooth!

I also want to see the plane wreck near the service club.
