Went with the Y Knot with Captian Dave Mucci with Bluewater Adventures (http://www.bluwateradventures.com)to the Oriskany yesterday and just wanted to give a viz and temp report.

The viz was fair at the surface to about 50' with viz at around 30 feet due mainly to a layer of surface particulate that seems to be everywhere right now. But once you get below that schmutz it opens way up. I had easily 80-100' of viz below 70' and could make out the flight deck from the top of the tower and could make out the boat from about 70' looking up. Mainly because you could follow the ascent line up with your eyes and make out the outline. But it was very promising to see. The temp has really warmed up on the surface to the low 70* and I had a min temp of 65* at depths of 120'. There is a big thermal cline at about 70' and that warm water felt really good after swimming around at depth for awhile.

Great day on the water.... great viz, great Wreck and a lot of fun. I really look forward to going again soon.

Thanks Capt. Dave!

Zactly what I was looking for. Am diving next Saturday. Now can you just tell me that the Thunderstorms and 17 mile/hr winds predicted for Saturday will go away? Dive planned since Jan.. Go figure.

This is way to early to predict.

Thanks for the report

I got a temp of 64* at 167 fsw. Had a lot of fun on the scooter skimming the flight deck playing dodge the barracuda. We went out with Down Under. Mr Xrays report of conditions is spot on. I'd add that there were many many jellies enjoying hanging out with us on the deco line. The weather was beautiful and the seas were calm.

I was on the 6 pack right next to you...

I always thought the idea of a touch-n-go on the flight deck of the Oriskany would be a fun idea with scooters :) Course, I'd also like to buzz through the hangar deck and drop down to see what a real screw looks like.
