Went with the Y Knot with Captian Dave Mucci with Bluewater Adventures (http://www.bluwateradventures.com)to the Oriskany yesterday and just wanted to give a viz and temp report.
The viz was fair at the surface to about 50' with viz at around 30 feet due mainly to a layer of surface particulate that seems to be everywhere right now. But once you get below that schmutz it opens way up. I had easily 80-100' of viz below 70' and could make out the flight deck from the top of the tower and could make out the boat from about 70' looking up. Mainly because you could follow the ascent line up with your eyes and make out the outline. But it was very promising to see. The temp has really warmed up on the surface to the low 70* and I had a min temp of 65* at depths of 120'. There is a big thermal cline at about 70' and that warm water felt really good after swimming around at depth for awhile.
Great day on the water.... great viz, great Wreck and a lot of fun. I really look forward to going again soon.
Thanks Capt. Dave!
