If you have a group of up to 12 you can reserve the whole tank for $1000.
ahh. i see. so when naui booked all three time slots (252 of them) for the entire week of dema, they probably got them for a lot cheaper than that... and then they sold some of them off at the regular price of $140. nice! :11:

That's true but NAUI donated all proceeds to the Disney Wildlife Fund. NAUI didn't make any profit but the beneficiaries of the Wildlife Fund did. Twas a great thing they did.

When I was there a few years ago, we used Scubapro EVERYTHING. My only complaint was that I got cold in the shortie. :rofl3: Oh, and since we were the last group of the day, We got to stay 60 minutes. But to tell you the truth, the fake coral really bothered me. Made the dive seem kind of dead, in spite of the other cool critters.

if that is true, then that's great. it was my understanding [based on the naui rep selling the tickets] that naui sold off all of the sunday and wednesday slots to the general public for the full $140 price as to offset the cost of the other slots, which was implied would be promotional items given away at dema. a little hypothetical math... if 12 slots cost $83 a piece, it wouldn't be unreasonable for 252 slots to cost $40. 252 slots @ $40 is a $10,080 outlay. Sun & Wed is 72 slots sold at $140 is $10,080. Im guessing the DWF received something closer to $10,080 and not $35,280 (252 * $140). Which is cool... I have no problem with that... creative at the least... I don't know if I can agree with "a great thing" though. ;)
