Dive report. Orange Beach and Gulf Shores

For anyone that hasn't been out there in a while..there isn't much to see. We did the jetties at Orange Beach and had a great 5-6 foot max vis. the waves weren't bad but the current was pretty swift. Then thought it would be a good idea to try and cross under the bridge. Let me go ahead and tell you guys and gals, it wasn't. too strong of current and way too much boat traffic. Finally we come to the Gulf Shores part. Took us 30 min. to get from Orange Beach to Gulf Shores cause we forgot the shrimp fest. was in town. then parking was a mess. Whiskey Wreck, once again 5-6 foot vis and a 12ft. max dive. but the waves weren't too rough.

ALL SAID. WE WENT OUT JUST TO GET THE GEAR WET BASICALLY.

Try getting on a boat and get offshore some. Last weekend the viz was good 15 miles out. This is probably the best time of year to dive.

yeah that was our first choice. but boats can be unreliable. but thanks for the heads up. i just assumed it wouldn't have been great out there either. but yeah when/if the boat gets working soon we will for sure try to hit that better vis further off shore.

Well I would like to go out Friday, weather permitting if anyone is interested?? Ive got room for 2 or 3 more. I will be down in the OB area all weekend and maybe do an afternoon dive or two somewhere.........again, weather permitting. Thats the bad thing about diving in the Gulf 1 to 3 going in and 4 to 6 coming out, lol
