Since no one showed up for the training dives last Saturday.... Today was our season opener. We headed out to the screw wreck for a nice soak in 80fsw. The morning commute was foggy, but the sun cleared it up and we had lake Atlantic for the ride out. We hooked up and I splashed to tie us up. There was no current to speak of and vis varried from 20 feet to 50 feet depending on where you were on the wreck. I made the whole tour including the prop, and had a RT of 67 minutes. I scored 2 largeflatties in the proccess and will enjoy them for tonights dinner. The bottom was littered with flatties and some sea bass. Bottom temps were a solid 52 with the hang being in the mid 70's. There were plenty of female taug and juvenile males that will grow up someday. All in all a great day on the water. Stay tuned if we make it out to the secret spot this Wed. for some more record taug slaying.
