I had received a couple of PM's from SB members comp.air.junkie and NashVegas about meeting them for a dive at the Destin Jetties. I had nothing else going so we agreed to meet at 11:00.
Just before arrival I got a call that the parking was full and the only spots available were a 1/2 mile down near the entrance to the other public access point....Yikes!
I got on site and was quickly suited up and was thinking that the walk would suck when my dive buddies wife who wouldn't be diving offered to drive us down and drop us off. Hell Yah!! Chop a 1/2 mile off that walk! We headed quickly for the water and were waist deep briefing the dive before we knew it.
We splashed at 11:30 and were quickly down to the box where we tied in our dive flag and made our way to the anchor (Which is buried again) before turning and slowly coming back taking pictures as we went. The life was not all that great and I thought for sure we'd see a shark as there were at least 6 fresh AJ carcasses laying in the reef which the fish and crabs were having a field day with.
All in all a nice dive albeit no sharks, rays or other big fish, but fun nonetheless. We ended up with a dive time of 53 minutes and max depth of 53 feet with min temp at 86*!
The only bad news from the dive was that nashvegas (?) had a home made camera housing which did not last very long, I'd guess that it was leaking right after we got to 20-30 feet and tied in the dive flag as I took this picture and today noticed this. But after we went to depth and returned shallow he said the back popped from the pressure and completely flooded it. Watch out JHAYES75! :shocked2:

Notice it looks like water is already in the case:
Goodbye camera::depressed:
