I did a Paul Gauguin cruise back in 2007, which was one of the best vacations of my LIFE...and finally I'm able to go again. WOOHOO! This time I'm on a different itinerary - in 2007 we did Society Islands & Marquesas; this cruise skips the Marquesas, but includes the Cook Islands.
We'll likely use the onboard dive op during the cruise, just for the convenience factor (it's more expensive than local ops, but I don't think by much, so I it's worth it.) But we've got a 3-day post-cruise stay at the Intercontinental in Moorea, and want to do a lot of diving during that time.
Can anyone recommend a good local dive op on Moorea? There's an onsite dive shop at the IC, but I've had some bad experiences with resort dive ops (cattle boats, too large groups, too many noobs, dives cut short when the noobs hoover through their tanks). We're both experienced divers, and have dived in some pretty awesome places around the world, so we're hoping for a dive up that takes small groups, grouped by experience, that doesn't make us end our dives with 1500 psi when someone in the group drains their tank.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
