Who here has ordered equipment from Dive Inn off the net? Any problems or issues I should be aware of??

I bought a Suunto Mosquito from them.
It arrived in 4 days!
What would have been a problem was..... that the owners manual is in Spanish. But I got it in English off of the Suunto website.

I've purchased two regulators from them so far with no complaints and only praise.

just a little suprise....

ordered my suunto vyper from them and it came quickly, with a zerox'd copy of the owner's manual in english (the original was in spanish). no problems there.

but several weeks later received a customs charge from good ol' uncle sam for 20 something dollars. suprise.....

I also got a Mosquito from them, along with the PC interface kit. I now have a knife on order w/them. Very good place, but like others said... the manual was in Spanish. There's also an option to pay for the "Uncle Sam" charges during your order, which is what I did... and I just got a statement with a 0 balance.

Very nice.

Yeah, I'm experiencing something with this too. Currently fighting it out with DHL

Apparently, there isa %4 Tariff on items over $200 USD. My problem is that my first regulator was reported to them at just about $400 and I didn't get hit with this Tariff but I did get hit with it for my second which Diveinn misreported as being $200 but was only $200 AFTER paying DHL's S&H. Also, I never heard of this tariff thing and there is a number on the ivoice to call to make inquiries, problem is it isnt an 800 number, it is long distance, the office hours are from 10am-4pm Central, No Answering machine and 50+ minnute hold times when the office was staffed (never did get through). So I've spent nearly double my S&H costs just making long distance calls to find out why I have these S&H costs.

As for the option to pay additional Customs fees through the website, this option was not available or not obvious on Diveinn.com's website until sometime in November.

Please note: NONE of these issues are with Diveinn.com, They have always been fast, curtious, and reliable. These isues are with DHL directly and, indirectly, with US Customs Offices.

I purchased my Apex Regulator package (TX50/DS4/TX40 Octo) and Suunto Mosquito from them. Came in 4 days via DHL (yes - I had to download the Suunto manual from their site in English). I never had any tariff issues or bills from Uncle Sam etc....

I received my second stage in 4 days and then the other stuff I wanted was backordered. As soon as it came in they called me all the way from Spain to make sure I still wanted it and I got it in 3 days!

I didn't get one of those us customs tariff things for my first order, I guess cuz it was under $200, but I did for the second one. I lost the bill and I haven't heard back from them (the gov't that is). Either they have forgotten about me or they are planning a sneak attack on my tax return. :)

Although I prefer to support my LDS, I'm poor and DiveInn has great prices. Just make sure if you buy something computerized that is just isn't in metric.

I bought a TX40 from DiveINN in December, and it showed up in four days -- no problems. My wife just bought me a Vyper from Simply Scuba (who gave her a nice discount over the phone) and it showed up in two business days (wow!).

Good luck.

Mike

Bought a few items from DiveInn without major problems and would consider them again. Purchased regs tx50,ds4,tx40 and cobra's. Besides the manual in espanol, it's one of the best purchases' I've made. Saved between two sets of gear approx. $600-$1000.

4 day's, just like clockwork.

waterdogs.
