Bought so much stuff from Diveinn that I'm a diving billboard for their store.

I know that there are no custom fees on diving merchandise that is for private use. So I don't understand why Spydertek is havin problems with customs. I have ordered $2,000.00 worth of goods in one order and was not charged any additional customs fees. There is a fee for currnecy conversion that Wells Fargo needs to have.

My dive stuff got to the frozen tundra of Minnesota in 3 DAYS!!!! from Spain-it's amazing.

I was skeptical once too...."how in the world can they be that cheap? Plus its a whole nother country... I could get totally ripped off and have no recourse"..... then I bought something from them... then i bought again and again.... Now I chant DiveInn to all my friends.

Seriously, I had the same experience as everyone else here, I got what I ordered, in 4 days or less, and saved a TON of $$. The only glitch is that they are in Spain so if they have a question, it arrives to your e-mail in the middle of the night and if you dont respond early in the a.m. then they wont get it till they come back to work in their a.m. (in other words a potential delay of 24hours). Not a big deal I just learned to check my e-mail when I woke up in the morning.

If you want to know true joy. Price something on DiveInn and then go price it at your local dive store. You'll laugh out loud at the cash you save.

I have not baught my own regs. yet and was wondering what kind of setup was required when recieving them from Diveinn ?

Is there any reason to take them to my LDS befor diving with them or just slap them together with a tank and hit the pool (I plan on getting some pool time with my new gear to try it out before hitting a "real dive"

Took my regs', octo and computer to my LDS, who checked it out and let me assembly under his guidance. It all checked out fine and we are good to go, can't wait to get back in the water and try the new stuff out.

Check it out first to make sure no problems, if there is, you can send it back to DiveInn or have the LDS do some adjustments.

I bought my regs from DiveInn and had that "it's not been checked out" apprehension. Prior to diving in Bonaire, I took both regs and did 3 dives in progressively deeper water here in MN. I did not have a problem.

I have had the regs. serviced since then and the tech. said they were A1 even prior to servicing. The only thing that was missing were the serial numbers. I'm sure the manufacurer deletes them. But they both worked great and I saved almost 50%

All my stuff from Diveinn has come with serial numbers. I dove with all the stuff with out LDS checking up on them.

Haven't heard back from DHL about the ustoms thing since I wrote them a long nasty letter. So do not know the status there as of yet.

buff,
Why would the manufacturer delete the serial number? The only reason I can see to do this is to avoid tracability.

I had a person call me and ask if I could match a diveinn price. The price was less than what I pay. The manufacturer said it was less than what anyone pays. I'm glad all you folks are so satisfied but something is rotton in Denmark!

My serial numbers weren't on my Poseidon Odin that I bought from LeisurePro NOT DiveInn.(my mistake there). My Apeks TX50 and TX40 from DiveINN both came with serial numbers.

It certainly is in the best interest of the manufacturer to keep quiet what they charge each dive shop. They sell to dive shops just like dive shops sell to the end consumer. I'm sure they charge different prices to each shop depending upon market demand. It's just like selling cars. No car lot wants to tell you that you paid more for your car than the next guy-but we all pay different prices. The same with airline tickets. "price sensitivity" and "the invisible hand" are always at work in our magical economy

Mike,

When the manufacturer told you it was less than anyone pays it is quite likely that they were referring to USA based distrabution only. My research in this area has been that manufactures seem to offer lower "cost" price to European markets than to American markets on the same exact merchandise.

This has been true so far with Mares, Suunto and Aqualung to name a few specific manufacturers.

Try calling their USA telephone numbers and then try calling their European telephone numbers and ask the same questions to both offices. You'll be surprised how different their answers are.
