Does anyone have any experience with the Omersub torpedo bouy??
http://www.leisurepro.com/Catalog.aspx?op=ItemDisplay&ProductID=OSBTMF

I am leaving for Maui soon and am looking for a towable flag. Was about to get the no frills float/stick and flag but saw this and wondered.

Thanks.....
Eric
Can't tell from the picture, but the flag looks kinda small. You might check the dimensions to make sure they meet local regulations.

I agree with Rick...the flag looks small. Might want to check with LP as to the size of the flag, then check the requirements of the county and state where you'll be diving to see if the flag meets the criteria.

Ok... I will stick to the basic float with a flag in lieu of the torpedo.. I tend to agree it is too small. Now another question. Should I do an Alpha flag or do you think the basic red diver down flag would better serve since it is more recognizable in US waters.

Get with the PWC Assn. of America and see which they would prefer we use. They pay more attention to them than anyone else.

More? Surely you jest?

I wish they paid attention to them, but in my experience dive flags often become turning buoys for impromptu PWC races.

I thought the alpha flag was for boats to indicate they were inmobile, not necessarily for divers down. Have I been misunderstanding?

foxtrot is the flag for immobile boats

Foxtrot is for disabled boats. Alpha flag is for boats unable to move due to operations not necessarily divers down.

Aren't dive flags just toys for swimmers to play with while you are underwater? Because that's what happened to me in Maui.

Seriously, be careful if you dive around any snorkels or swimmers there. Many will tug and play with your dive flag. Towing 8 kids will tire you out pretty fast.
