Does anyone else get this? I dove yesterday, two 60 degree dives in a 7mil with hood and gloves and let me tell you i'm still pooped! I consider myslef in good shape and these dives yesterday about killed me lol. I feel like I ran a marathon or something. Anyone else get like this?

How fast were you moving? How deep did you go, and what was your profile (how long on decompression?) From all I can tell, these seem to be the big determining factors other than just being unfit. I will assume you were diving on air.

After one of my first boat dive days, I felt so tired I stopped off at the beach on the way home for a snooze. I felt tired for about 24 hours and it then wore off. I later realized that I was probably pretty dehydrated that day and since then I pay close attention to keeping myself hydrated on dive days. I have not felt that way on any dives since then.

dives can induce severe fatigue. Nitrogen is not your friend, especially coupled with cold water.

Yes I was diving on Air. The depth was only about 40 feet for two consecutive dives and I was slow moving. Maybe the cold temperatures has something to do with it, dunno.

Just because you're not running at full speed doesn't mean you're not exerting yourself. You're carrying a lot of weight and your body is subject to the pressure from the water. That's a lot of strain. Plus, the nitrogen in your body contributes to your fatigue. I'm usually tired after diving one day and quite pooped after a few days of multiple dives.

I definately feel tired when I get too cold. Also, while one can be in good shape, I personally don't haul 50+ pounds around on my back during the work week, I save it for the weekends.

how fast were your ascents? I find if I do a really slow ascent after a dive I feel much more energized post dive than if I came up quicker than I should. I like to take 1 minute for the last 10ft of depth

I find that when I dive nitrox, I have much more energy after the dives.
The body works hard to offgas, and that makes you tired.
I love to snooze for about 20 minutes during SI's.

Yep, always happens to me, more so on some dives...

Scuba diving burns more calories than we realize, therefore is more exhausting;

Cold water does it even more, therefore more;

Loading up tissues with N2 will reduce the amount of O2 that can be conveyed, therefore O2 starved muscles are fatigued;

And just gearing up with clubmersome tanks & BCs, 7 mil suits, 20#+ weight, etc is hard work.
