No sand left on the beach? What happened? That use to be one of my favorite sites! :(

Hurricane Sandy plus the Nor'easter that came shortly thereafter. No sand in sight (we were there about 2 hours after high tide)....just lots of softball-sized rocks. Would be interesting to hear what things look like there underwater.....is the big sand flat underwater in front of the beach gone as well?

As of about a month ago (post Sandy) the entry at Back Beach had turned into one more like Folly...what used to be sand with scattered rocks was covered with "ankle breakers." The underwater terrain was definitely re-arranged there too, though I only did one dive, and it was short, so I'm not entirely sure how much. I headed out directly east (my "lazy" heading) and didn't run across any large rock groupings like there used to be, just scattered big(ish) boulders. It will probably all change again over the winter, hopefully back to easy entry at both sites 1
