I have an old US Divers Aqualung M1 dive computer. The battery finally gave up the ghost. Is there anyone who still services them?

Have you tried your local Aqualung dealer? If Aqualung still supports it, then you should be able to get a battery for it from them.

Jax is right, this thread would get better result in the Dive Computer forum. Ask a mod and they'll move it. :D

Found one thread on it from a couple years ago that says you can get batteries for it still. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/co...-divers-aqua-lung-m1-old-school-computer.html

This company says it will replace them for $75 bucks plus shipping. Personally for a dive computer THAT OLD, I'd say that $75 bucks would be better spent towards upgrading towards a newer computer. (just my opinion)

Good luck finding someone to service it. There are a few folks, but it's typically expensive.

It is possible to change it yourself, but you will need to take apart the case, clear out the potting compound (around the battery only!!!) and de-solder the battery. New batteries can be had at Radio Shack.

The trouble comes when you have to reseal the area around the battery. You can try silicon caulk. Some folks have had some luck with this. You can try a few other things, but the best is to try and come up with the actual potting compound (good luck, and it you find some, let me know!).

The issue with the USDivers M1 and M2 is that they are "always on". Therefore, they slowly drain the battery all the time. This can pose some interesting issues if you've flown in to a dive site and are looking to go diving on the day you fly in.

However, they are good, conservative computers. I would try and change the battery yourself, if it were me.
