I will be taking a fly in my next vacation, and i will like to know if it is save for my Dive computer to run in to the airport scanners?, i have a Cobra comp.

Should i place the computer in a carry on bag and bring it with me?

Thank you on advance.

We didn't have any trouble with our two Suunto Cobra computers when we recently visited the Bahamas. No issues with camera or computer from scanners.

Your computer and your fly are Ok to take as carry in. :D

Wear a kilt, check your fly in. :)
Bring your computer with you on the plane.

Make sure you turn off all alarms.

I recall a time when a gate check-in line at Gatwick was held up because someone's computer kept beeping. As it was a flight for the Red Sea, the airline personnel expected this sort of thing but still, had to check the source of the sound.

Never thought of that, thanks.

I activated on my computer while in-flight once. When we landed, it took it as a 4 foot dive. Thought it would never go off. It was off the next morning, tho.

Someone please tell me if my fly needs attention :11:

I always carry my dive computer as carry on baggage. The only thing to be careful with is not to activate it - mine has accidentally activated a few times because some button was depressed during travel and since the computer senses differences in altitudes, the thing started beeping. It will actually lock out on me. These days, I put my computer in a box where no buttons will be pushed accidentally.

Both my computers go in my camera bag.....it SELDOM gets opened. In the past I used to take the batteries out of the pc's. Havent recently. And, it never hurts to have the instruction manual with you for extra idiot tsa types.

The Xray machines won't hurt it.... put it through.

but don't let the TSA guys with the Hand-wand metal detector anywhere near it.
the hand wand has friend some of our electronics (hard drives) in the past.
