Hi I'm going to be getting my fist computer. I'm trying to decide between the aeris xr2 nitrox or the oceanic veo 100 nitrox. Any input to make my decision easier would be appreciated. I don't dive with nitrox, not sure if I ever will, my other options would be the veo 100 or the xr 1.

Thanks

My vote is for the Aeris elite t3. Had it for about 2 and a half years around 160 dives and only had to change the batteries once so far. Easy to read and all your dive data is right on your wrist which for me I find myself looking at it a lot during a dive. Also eliminates a hose from your first stage. If you end up diving a lot you will probably dive nitrox.

I can get you the VEO extremely cheap. New Oceanic stock is just in, and I need rid of last years models. PM me if you want a price. Yes, I'm an authorized Oceanic Dealer.

From what I can tell, the only major difference between the Aeris XR-1 and XR-2 is the ability to download dive profiles from your dive computer to your dry computer. I don't dive EANx yet either, but I got the Aeris XR-1 NX simply because I don't see any need to connect it to my dry computer.
It's an easy to use, easy to read and has every bit of data that you're likely to need.

The aeris xr2 nitrox is nicer than the VEO 100NX. I have a VEO 100NX and a friend of mine has one. If you don't dive nitrox yet I still would get the nitrox option. I have just recently got certified for nitrox and thought I would never dive nitrox, but luckily my computers are nitrox compatible. The VEO is hard to beat. It is a plain computer but do you really have to have a backlight and Fancy things? I use my dive light to see my computer at night. Go to ScubaToys website. They are authorized dealer and I know for a fact if there is a problem they will go out of there way to make it right. I bought mine on sale for $174.95.

Oceanic Veo 100 NX Nitrox Wrist Computer reviews and discounts, Oceanic

Those are almost identical computers, but the Aeris has a bigger memory and if you spend the money for the cable, can be downloaded to a computer.

Roughly (not sure they make this) it would be identical to a VEO 200 (has twice the memory of a Veo 100..

They are made (obviously) by the same company...so I would let price be my guide.

Oceanic Veo 100 Nx because I have one mint for sale but you don't need it because shipping may give you a hit.

i got the aeris t3 elite. because ....... i can monitor multiple tanks and it tells me up fromt what time remaining is based on. psi o2 ndc ect.

what ever you get make sure it is air integrated and pc linkable.

If you can get one of them dirt cheap, then that's the one I'd go for.

Here's where I'm coming from; I hate dive computers. Sure, I recognize the utility of them and the desirability of having something that will give you more dive time, plot your surface interval and everything else, but I've found dive computers to be some of the potentially most expensive and least reliable pieces of gear out there. I've had them fail mid-dive more than once. Then getting them serviced, (which almost always means replaced), can be a PITA.

If you get a cheap one, that leaves you more money to buy gear that you can expect to last a lifetime.
