Opinions on buddy signatures will be as varied as opinions on what a "loggable" dive is.

Good luck with that one.

I usually just write the name of my buddy in that section. I had one buddy that wanted to exchange log books and each of us sign, but other than that, only my instructors have signed my book. I like to insert their names in for my own memories of with who, when, and where I dived.

My wife is my dive buddy, so we always sign each others book.

What difference does it matter....

If it's a dive that's really cool or notable or important, we'll sign logs - like The Lovely Young Kat's 300th in Bonaire, all of us in the group signed... otherwise, no.
I will always sign a log for any dive I've witnessed if requested to do so.

Our dive guests would ask us to sign and add a stamp....me, I'd have to dig to find my log....

Same with my husband and I.

I dove with a brand new diver in Belize last week, we signed each other's log books.
