Cayman 27 News has a report that includes a quote from Cathy Church calling it a miscommunication accident between her and the crew, but the DiveTech owner Joanna Mikutowicz was interviewed and adamantly insists that it was negligence, not an accident, see the link below:

On another forum a witness to the accident said that it looked like the DiveTech boat was sinking, so I am very glad that they made it safely and that no one was hurt during the incident. It could have been very bad.

It appears that the marine investigators (and probably the insurance companies) will be stepping in to study and resolve the situation.

Seriously, though, I am glad nobody was hurt and I hope that the right lessons are learned whatever they may be.

Very fortunate no one injured or killed, either on the boats or in the water. The particulars will be sorted out in time.

High season and a boat out of the water for a while will have a huge impact on Divetech's business. Their other boat will be packed and/or they will be losing clients and dollars through no fault of their own. I feel badly for Divetech owners, staff and customers. I'm glad there were no injuries but somehow, ramming a moored boat in open water is not "complicated or miscommunication", it's negligent. Res ipsa loquitur.

The scariest part is they mention snorklers were in the water thank God no one was run over.

Red Sail runs a snorkel trip out there on a regular basis. I've been in the water with my too-young-to-dive kiddos with dozens of snorkelers on that site. Could have been really bad. There are often many moored boats and it's a high traffic area.

Glad everyone is okay and hope they get past this and back on the water quickly.

Precisely. That's why there should have been someone at the helm, being attentive, and going slowly. I hope there is a thorough investigation.
