I, too, brew my own and many of you may shun me for this, but after a long dive, I will usually jump for a martguerita first and save the beer for later. Later favorites include Deschute's Black Butte Porter, Kona Firerock Pale Ale, or Primo.

If I dive a heavy Scotch ale or stout, I have to carry more weight than when diving a pale ale or wheat beer ... but I favor the Scotch ale, so I'll live with carrying the extra couple of pounds ...

I also like Sleeman Cream Ale.

Mmmmmm! That's good beer, at least according to me. If I ever have a reason to drive to Ontario again, a couple of cases of that are coming back with me.

 AMEN TO THAT AS WELL

Philippines San Miguel
anywhere else whatever is cold :D

Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
Thy will be drunk, (I will be drunk),
At home as it is in the pub.
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillage's,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer, The bitter, The lager.
BARMEN.

And don't let the thread die now.

My favorite post dive treat is to stop off at the Rogue Brewery

Have you ever tried their Younger's Special Bitter? That has to be one the top two or three that I have ever had. I wish that my local beer store still carried it.

My favorite post dive treat is to stop off at the Rogue Brewery in Newport for a hearty meal washed down by a few pints of thier Chocolate Stout. MMmmmmm my two favorite flavors, chocolate and beer, artfully crafted into a little piece of heaven in a glass.

If we arent diving the Oregon coast.... then I am a fan of trying local beers.

Ahh Rogue, excellent beers! You and I are so lucky to live in a state with so many outstanding breweries!

far and away my favorite after dive beer was the Kabuli in Dominica. If as the beer ads say, good water makes good beer, this might be proof. Then again it might have been the island, the company, or the diving.

Anyway, this beer was so good, we ended up bringing some home, and yes it was still great.
