Anyone have/had any experiences with Dive Assure Insurance? www.diveassure.com Looking for either good or bad experiences. Yes, I know that they are backed by AIG which is a big strong company. I'm looking for actually experiences. I'm considering them as they are primary insurance instead of being secondary insurance like DAN is.

We just switched to them, don't have any experiences though. We switched for the same reason. An insurance agent who was a Navy Diver told me he was hearing they are excellent. A wee bit more expensive. I will lurk and see if anyone has any experiences.

My LDS now refers them to divers rather than DAN

More expensive, though really not by all that much, is to be expected as they are primary versus DAN being secondary. Plus if you add in travel protection included with Dive Assure vs paying DAN for it on an ad hoc basis.....Still would like to know that it's not like pulling teeth to get a claim paid.
Yes, I have their diamond plan, which also covers trip cancellation/delays for weather. We had a liveaboard cancelled part way through the trip due to Hurricane Ernesto. It's now been 6 weeks since I filed my claim and it is "still under review." I plan on letting the board know all the details once this things shakes out.
