There is a spring/summer long event going on in Texas called dive across Texas. The link and details are above. Yes, you get to pay $25 to play, but it is well sponsored and the party in September promises to be a good one.

Nutshell, 12 dives in 4 different locations in Texas. Verified. When you have made the dives you need to take your log back to your participating shop and get the stamp.

I knew about most of the dive sites on the map. There are probably some missing. One that I don't think still exists unless something has changed is Camp Tonkawa in Nacogdoches. Last I knew that belonged to Ozarka, the spring water company.

Otherwise it was a neat swim spot (COLD!) in the summers.

Check it out.

The site doesn't say anything (that I saw) about diving. It does exist though.

Do sites that aren't on the map count?

I was told all Texas sites count; the map is just a site suggestion map.

It's not on the approved list but We'll stamp your dive log book here at the Paris Tunnels :lotsalove:

Don't forget about Lake Pat Mayse and Lake Crook and the Sulphur River Drift Dive between Mount Joy and the Hwy. 24 Bridge ;-)

For those of yall interested there will be another DAT event this Saturday (5/1) @ Mammoth Lake. I have volunteered to lead a dive on the "New Song" & "Sea Toy" wrecks. "Sea Toy" is a 36' Chris Craft and the "New Song" is a 34' work boat. I am sure there are a few other things that I might be able to point out in that general area also.

I hope to start a short briefing about 1030 and be in the water shortly after.

I am having trouble finding any photos but I will see if I have any on my home computer of these boats.
