I teach a PADI DS for Intro to U/W Archaeology
I wrote the dive certification outline for the course put on by MAHS out of Washington DC. www.mahs.org . Longer course, confined water session and 2 days of Field School survey dives

Another PADI DS I do is Marine Resource Management, originally desgined by Alex B. Non diving specialty. See his articles in Dive Training.

Dee Scarr has two interesting PADI Distinctive specialties:
Touch the Sea, and
Future Perfect Diver.

My wife and I took the first several years ago, and it was one of the highlights of our diving experiences.

see:
TOUCH THE SEA®, Reservations

I saw a Sea Lion specialty listed at Sport Chalet here in SoCal. $125 to look at sea lions? They'll be there anyway.
