I don't mind a little surge or 10 foot vis but with a bloom you get coated in muck which I don't like. :yuck:

I haven't submerged in two months, but the reports I've heard off the island for the last few days indicate as low as under 10 ft vis. Glad I'm not missing anything. The tropics do sound VERY appealing right about now.

I did a dive at crescent last night and the vis was quite good.

On the kick out the biolumenescense (sp??) was awesome. It was so bright I could see my fins as we were kicking out and just sticking my arm to the side made great trails.

We kicked out pretty far deciding if we were going to do dead mans or the seal rock side of the reef. We decided on the reef and when we were ready to drop we were on top of the reef and I could have probably stood up on it if I wanted. But when we dropped the visability was 20+, it was great. In a few places where the surge was rough it probably dropped to 10' and it was a nice and warm to about 40'. My computer gave 57 as the coldest temp.

The funny part of the dive was the "couple" on the beach with a blanket getting surprised as we came out of the surf with our lights on. We turned them off once we noticed them, but we could still hear them giggling as we walked to the stairs.
