El Orans:
Our instructor warned us before the dive that his arm had sufficient space for several masks. So, we didn't even try it. :)

I think either Scot or Brando laughed and said they had very long arms.. use all the masks we wante to.

MonkSeal:
I believe that NAUI instructor can earn "provisional". :)
I don't know exactly what they expect so I can't really guess how I would do which leads me to prepare for the worst and hope for a pass. I'm much more comfortable in my wetsuit than my drysuit so I take that into consideration too.

I do prefer to take courses to learn the material as opposed to getting a card. Some of the exercise descriptions sound like things we put in our OW classes; taking the course would give me more ideas for OW pool activities.

Where do I find the schedule for classes? Anything in Ohio this year?

Scot and Brandon are based out of Detroit, but come down to Gilboa 1 or 2 times a year to run the class.

If I hear when the next one is, I'll pass it along.

Of course, Brandon is down at Gilboa quite a bit, so you may see him yourself.

wb416, I was in the class with Headhunter and I believe the point was to be able to communicate with someone effectively using hand signals and to maintain your neutral buoyancy.

After this class, I have come to the conclusion that PADI is to GUE as Lower Alabama Community College is to USC, :) Both can get you a degree and you get what you pay for.

Thanks....:05:

I'm pretty familiar with the goals of the class, but rather was making a joke... hence the :D

..which I guess beckons the question: If someone makes a quip, but no one gets it, is it really a quip? :11:

... or hearkens one to think of the age old ponderance: "If a tree falls in a forest...."

scvdiver:
wb416, I hear you now, If I read your next entry I wouldn't have made that assumption there, :D
listen to WB. He's only TECH1, Cave, and who knows what other certs from GUE.
What could he know?

Beisides, any guy who drives a scooter can't know much, now can he? (laughing)

...my cave isnt from GUE...

...and all I know is that I DON"T know much... and he'd be wise to just listen to MHK or Brando!!

...a scooter just means I get to run into things harder and faster... :D
