I do have one question about Laguna...is there diving below Crescent Bay Point Park? I'm asking because my husband and I got married there at the little park 25 years ago. I'll never forget all the seals barking out on the rock there as we were saying our vows. If we're going to be hanging out at Heisler, is it possible to dive off Crescent Bay Point from there? Just wondering. I think it would be cool to dive there, and look up and see that special spot, some 25 years later.

It's an expansive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd reef system. You could easily spend a few hours on it and barley scratch the surface of all there is to see. It's one of North OC's premier dive sites. It's also a great skim/body boarding spot on a solid Southern-Hemi.

I'd love to attend, but I guess I'm neither fish nor fowl since I'm just Intro Cave. I guess I also fall into the category of DIR friendly, but if anybody has a spare DSS BP I can bring my singles wing and straps to put together a singles rig for the curious.

Just a quick note here....I had considered offering up some extra gear (plates, wings, regs w/ long hoses, etc), but have decided against it due to potential liability issues. I think it best that curious divers who are not outfitted in this type of gear dive in the gear they're comfortable with. DIR is NOT about the gear....it's about the mindset.

Thanks to the two of you for offering....and the others who offered via PM or email as well....but for this event, I'd prefer that everyone dives in the gear they're comfortable in.

Thanks!

I had to re-read Oside Jimc's post that I replied to. I thought I was replying to someone who said they had a wing and camstraps but needed a backplate (I've been in that situation before so I sympethize). But upon re-reading it I see he was offering gear for someone to try.

I agree with Nicole :)

I was wondering about the same thing and I think your right with this thought. I'm looking forward to it and I'm also actively recruiting divers!
