The answers after that post are pretty clear that what she wants to do and what the gazillions of tourists are doing is not DIR.

Yes, the post you referenced *could* be a troll. On the other hand, maybe there are still a few self-taught cyber-DIR divers out there who don't yet realize that the DIR air limit is 1 ATA and that for anything deeper, Nitrox is usually a better choice. Either way, since it was the OP who posted the follow-up question, I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt. Especially since she got plenty of civil DIR answers.

Actually, I do appreciate it.

I just don't see why someone would come here and post a thread titled "DIR Answer Required", and then so obviously hijack her own thread with non-DIR answers.

Well, actually I do ... I just thought it wasn't allowed here.

The post I was referencing ...

Was that post referencing her thoughts on diving or the dive industry in Hawaii that does those types of dives all the time?

Divers do those kind of dives the world over.

Some people think there's nothing wrong with them. They're entitled to their opinion.

They're not (by the posting rules of this forum) entitled to state it here ... particularly in a thread titled "DIR Answer Required".

It goes against the reason why this forum exists.

Lighten up NWGD . . .I read her post as an honest/legit query with regard to her experience and observation as a working Dive Professional in Honolulu.
Catherine, I used 21/35 Trimix on the Sea Tiger with 50% Nitrox for Deco. Was my "practice dive" for my just recently completed trip to the Wrecks of the South China Sea. For ease of breathing and clarity of mind, I would recommend using Trimix on the Sea Tiger, especially if undergoing the rigors of an Advanced Wreck Class. . .

thanks for the input everyone. Grateful diver, I am not trolling. I am a sincere diver who has a sincere desire to understand the issues. If you believe I am out to knock DIR, you are deluding yourself. I bought the dvds four years ago and have had a sincere interest in learning about the DIR perspective on deco, etc. I am friends with many DIR divers and would like to have the option to continue to learn from them.----IF you don't mind. By the way, why don't you find something constructive (and fun) to do? You are starting to get on my nerves.

In fact, I plan to formally complain that you are repeatedly harassing me at this point. Many constructive and educational conversations have transpired over this weekend---every one has been great with everyone else. Many ideas exchanged and many questions answered. But enough is enough.

I asked for a DIR answer in the spirit of following the rules, as well as wanting to better understand the DIR reasoning. You continue to twist both my word and my intentions. I am struggling to follow the math and frankly, you are a big distraction.

Oh! And here is a concept: Try starting your own threads about something you would like to learn about. There are astronauts, physicians, biologists, world travelers, etc on this board and many gracious people willing to give you any information you can imagine to inquire about.

You are entitled to ask the question. But your subsequent responses should be within the rules for posting here. They were not, as evidenced by the fact that they were removed from this thread, and from this forum.

If I am bothering you, by all means contact the ScubaBoard staff. Better yet, contact me. I'm willing to discuss, listen, and resolve our differences offline ...

You're right Bob . . .and you come off sounding like a terse turd for it!! Quit expounding on it and leave the Lady alone. Snowbear did the job way back earlier and this should've been a non-issue by now without you regurgitating it. . . !!!

OK guys, the bickering is over. Snow doesn't seem to be online, but in the meantime I will not allow this to continue.

From this point forward, any non-DIR questions or responses will be deleted.

It's OK Jonny ... I probably asked for it.

If you don't mind allowing one more ... I apologize to Catherine ...
