Yes. It would be nice to see a world map with DIN countries shown in red and YOKE nations shown in blue.

If I can't arrange to have DIN on vacation, I just change my Zeagle over to yoke. It takes 5 minutes, including looking for the two tools I need. No biggie.

I'm also not sure what is meant by the statements that DIN is more subject to damage than a yoke, or that yoke regulators are more robust. But I guess that may have something to do with how they are treated, maintained, etc...

If you drop a DIN tank out of the back of a Jeep in Cayman it tends to make the circular orifice somewhat oval. DIN valves in Cayman are not cheap.
Not that I would know anything about that....................

Sucked into a hatch frame in a wreck by surge once. The impact on the yoke knob allowed the o-ring to start leaking...

Switched to DIN.

Pretty sure if you are headed for tech then you will likely go towards DIN. If not then you will probably head towards yoke. I mean regs when I say this. I haven't been around here too long but this much seems obvious. As far as tanks as everybody has said why not go with pro valves as they are convertible and you can use either. You're still gonna want a yoke reg for vacation though. Seems pretty obvious.

How does yoke work in sidemount with bungies and all the specific skills? Have you tried?

Yes. It would be nice to see a world map with DIN countries shown in red and YOKE nations shown in blue.
In my experience, except in the US and its surroundings when it's usually yoke only, in the rest of the world, it's either Din (but usable with inserts, so yoke possible), or mainly yoke but with enough DIN tanks so I wasn't forced my adaptors.

In all the places I've dived, my experience as been :
- France : din available (in the many places I went)
- Malta : din available (in the 2 places I went)
- Uk, Italy, Bulgaria : din available (in the one place I went in that country)
- Egypt : din available (in the 5 places I went)
- Philippines : din available (in the 5 places I went)
- Mexico : din available (in the 2 places I went)
- French west indies : din available (in the 2 places I went)
- Belize : din available (in the one place I went in that country)
- Honduras bay Islands: yoke only (in the 3 places I went)

You can add South Africa to your DIN list.
