I need to convert my Oceanic first stage from yoke to DIN. Do I need to buy Oceanic's adapter or will any DIN conversion work?

Thanks for the help
-Lance

Conversion kits are not universal. Even if another mfgr would fit, there is probably no reason to use anything other than the DIN fitting provide by Oceanic.

The switch from yoke to DIN is a conversion where you remove the yoke fitting from the first stage housing and replace it with the DIN fitting. This hardware is "manufacturer and model specific."
Now, once you have your reg converted for DIN, you can mount a univeral DIN-to-Yoke adapter on the DIN fitting if you like, but it's sort of bulky and awkward and not nearly as streamlined as the original yoke fitting.
I do the conversion both ways when I want to move a reg from yoke to DIN or vice-versa.
Clear? (as mud, right?)
I'll try to get some pictures if you like.

Thanks for the responses.

I've seen the DIN adapters online and they sort of looked the same, I was just hoping I could go with another brand (about half the price) other than the Oceanic. Based on you advice I'll get the Oceanic, at least when its expensive online there is another reason to pick it up at the LDS :)

sorry for asking a "stupid" question.....

but i was wondering what's the diff between yoke and DIN??

Is yoke referring to the normal K-valve??

from my understanding, DIN is used for HP tanks of say above 3300 psi??

What does DIN actually stands for???

Thanks a zillion to anyone who can help me with this....:D
