i am trying to get the video off of my sonytrv mini dv camcorder cassettes. when i used the supplied software the resoultion of the tape was horrible. it looked very blocky. is there anyway i can download the actual raw image off of the camcorder tape? what software do u guys use for video editing?

For editing I was using Adobe Premire but am moving to Final Cut Pro, more a professional package with heaps of cool features.

not quite as costly as premmiere and obvioulsy lacking a lot of the features, however one nice touch is the fact that you can input the video in low resolution format. This does not take up so much memory space. Then when you go to render the finished product it only drags in the required video (editied down part) in full quality format.
