After reading your initial post I was about to respond (as I had had the "not enough air at first" problem myself), but then I noticed your query was from 2008, so you probably weren't holding your breath waiting for an answer ;)

As long as I was here I figured I would scroll down to see what was added today... it was fun to see that it was a follow up post from you! How cool that you have now done so much diving and those problems are but a memory. So many times a thread ends and the OP never comes back and you just wonder how it all worked out.

Thanks!

Haha, yeah. I'm not so cluey with how forums work and it took me awhile to figure out how to find my old posts. I've been scuba diving a fair bit and gaining competency in the sport.

I tend to take deep controlled breaths underwater, and one of my dive instructors said I shouldn't do that and to breathe more normally. But I find I like to breath in the air, let it fill with lungs and very slowly release it out.

I find that breathing air normally as I would do on land - makes me feel like I'm not getting enough air into my lungs. Maybe its a pressure thing.
