What are the essential differences between the rescue courses provided by the various agencies? I am looking for something that's going to provide me the most comprehensive training, with extensive hands-on experience and instruction.

I do not shy away from learning theory, and in fact welcome it. Right now, the local SDI shop has managed to bend my ear in their direction, but I'd like some feedback from the rest of you.

I hope to hear from cross-agency instructors in particular, who have had directly comparable experiences with the standards and teaching methodologies of each.
