Rick Inman:
I watched it.
"Suddenly our comm system started to malfunction and our lights started to fail... was it the ghost of Nessy?... it was the scariest dive I've ever been on."
Oh, brother...
I think Richie said "...spookiest dive I've ever been on", which is even hoakier. It was a new low for Deep Sea Dectectives and I fell asleep about 3/4's of the way through so I never found out if they found nessie or not.

Rick Inman:
This one has been shown a few times. Chatterton has been criticized by some of the cave community, and you can read why in THIS thread from last time it was on.

I know why.,.......

jealousy :D

They are definitely getting melodramatic on the show. Yeah, I'm sure that the ghost of Nessie was "spookier" than watching fellow divers die on the U-869...
Still its a diving show....you gotta like it!

I agree, but I still like it. It seems they "stretch" the show to make it last 60 minutes (with commercials). After each commercial they re-state a lot of what they've already covered on the show. They also tend to take a "side lesson" to spend time on the history of whatever the subject is, but it is "The History Channel".

But it's about the only diving show that's on with some consistancy and these guys get to do dives that most of us only dream about. So in reality, I think most of us would love to have their jobs. :-)

At one point he was playing it up about being anxious about diving in a lake where something "big" might be lurking down there... Anyone wanna place bets on the size of the largest shark that Chatterton has seen in the Atlantic while on deco?

Anyway, I did really like that episode. I was a loch ness monster nerd in elemenatary school. I've actually visited Inverness and been out on loch ness before. Had the hottest curry of my life at an indian restaurant (and I ordered 'mild'). Didn't see any monsters though...

During the Mexico Underwater dive show there are many seminars,I saw that on May 12 at 5:00 someone is lecturing on the Quebrada cave project.

Where did you find a calendar of events for Mexico Underwater? Firing up Google.....

EDIT: To answer my own question:

anyone see the episode about the oil spills in Nor Cal? They actually planned a dive..hand signals and everything!!

James Goddard:
Normally at this point I would be disabled by anticpation. However, this time it is a combination of anticpation and fear. We're taking our 7 month old. I have no idea how a week without quiet machines such as swings and bouncers and entertaining dogs is going to go...

Well at least your starting the little one off the right way, in stowing an appreciation for the tropics. Maybe the sound of the waves on the shore will be calming enough.

Hope to see you on the island if you make it over for dinner at Casa Denis. Any night will still be good for us.
