Did you buy spare spring straps for your fins?

They're actually much easier to remove your fins than using regular springs, and much cheaper as well.
After seeing your post and pics, I made a set myself. I've been using them for a few weeks. They work great!

Nope. No problems with either pair of fins that have them.
 
I don't have spare spring straps but I do bring the fins' original straps as back-ups for trips.
 
I take my Aeris Accel fins on trips. I replaced the straps that they come with (very light and stretchy) with springs and take the original straps along just in case. I wouldn't take extra springs because of the weight and bulk but the Accel straps are a no brainer.
 
Thank you all for your information. This has been very helpful. I am going to look into getting some bungees. The spare straps for my fins (Hollis F2s) are a little under $50/pair. I thought there had to be a better way.
 
ScubaPro's first round of spring strap (not the bungie from the Nova) didn't not use the proper grade of stainless steel in the pin that the spring hung from so they failed pretty quickly because the pin came apart.
