Did I make a mistake?

Coron wrecks look murky. I am not hearing center of bio-diversity in PG I am hearing we saw a few things. My last dive sites were Sipadan, Komodo and Raja. I really have a feeling I may have made a mistake booking Philippines. If anyone can contrast Philippines and the sites I mentioned please do.

I think I am going to dive Tubbatha and head to Cebu. It really sounds like PG and Coron lack luster. All that is booked currently is the flight to Manilla. I will go to Coron dive a couple days then see if I can grab a live aboard to Tubbatha. Maybe Cebu see some whale sharks being fed. (bad diver). Oh well if it all goes south lay on a beach and eat Durian.

If you do Oslob for the whale sharks, add Moalboal to it, which has the giant school of sardines and turtles that hang out towards the surface

Coron is about the wrecks and some are just WW2 history buffs who get a thrill from diving an Axis ship that the Allies destroyed

I wasn't a huge fan of PG but I do get the appeal assuming one wants cheap

The wrecks in Coron are great, couple of days will NOT do any justice to them.
Tubattaha is always in big demand and where would you be to grab a last minute cancellation?
Better place to snorkel with whaleshark is Southern Letye(Nov to May). There is NO feeding. Diving there is also very good.

@Centrals The LA depart from Peurto Princesa. There are some local dive ops that don't work through Liveaboard.com. I am not paying $3800 for 7 days hoping the diving is worth that kind of money. If I don't get a spot it won't be the end of the world. Honestly I don't mind laying on a beach either.

I had joined the LoB based on Puerto Princesa to Tubbataha twice and the boats were on the small size.
There are couple of very old boats on Liveaboard.com eg. Solitude one and Discovery Palawan.

They are most likely to be departed from Puerto Princesa because of its close proximity(relatively). The exception is the beginning and the end of the season when the boats have to start/return from base.
Big boat has its advantage if the weather turns nasty. Because there is no where to hide from the wind.

Have you considered making the 3-hour flight from Manila to Palau? Palau is a top 3 diving location in the world on nearly every best diving location list. While Tubbataha is considered the best diving in the Philippines, it rarely appears in the top 20 list of the world's best diving locations. Just thought maybe it would cost similar to the local op liveaboard

Since you've already booked whats the harm in continuing to go diving? I've not been to Coron or PG but from what I read they look like excellent places to me.
