Diaphagm repair?

So, I did a dumb and put a hole in the diaphragm of my Aqua Lung AirSource 3. It's a small puncture, but it's a puncture none the less. Given that parts availability seems to be a fantasy, is there any (safe) way to repair a small puncture like that?

The material looks a lot like the latex one finds in drysuit seals, so I was thinking of perhaps an aquaseal repair with latex patch backing?

Am I crazy to consider this at all? Anyone been successful with a repair like that before? Anyone have a source on a replacement diaphragm? (I've got a line on a used AirSource, but would prefer to not garbage mine if it can be fixed.)

You won't find one online, they will only sell to an authorized dealer.

It's life support and patching a diaphram is really foolhardy. Just bring it in for service

I've made a few shaky repairs in my time but that's one I'll have to pass on. There's just to much that can go wrong with that and leave you breathing water.

The diaphragm is of a silicone material, not latex.

There is no repair for a puncture in a silicone diaphragm that I would trust.

Use some duct tape. What could go wrong? I mean one would only use it in case of an OOA emergency.

Besides if something can't be fixed with duct tape and bailing wire it's broken.

Fair enough. Asked and answered. I've been surprised many times in my life at things that turn out to be repairable. This is not one of those times. Appreciate the feedback.
