I went out with Emerald Coast Scuba today, out of Destin at 9am. There was some rain on the way to the dive sites, but the sun just started to peek out when we arrived at Tyner's reef. Visibility was ok at about 15 to 20 feet and there was quite a bit of "whale snot" in the water. Once we hit bottom, at about 80 to 85 feet, we started exploring the reef bottom. Found an octopus and some damsels, one lone cow fish and lots of sponges. There wasn't much else out at the time, most of the life were hiding in holes. On our second dive, we came to the Destin bridge rubble. The visibility was 10 to 15, we came down at 68 feet. Lots of variegated sea urchins, a cow fish, arrow crabs, and toad and frog fish. Found an octopus in a den, that was initially shy but with some rearranging of his front, he came out for some socializing. Overall a great dive!:cool2:
