Scubaboard: Does anyone have recommendations for a bottom timer that is NOT a dive computer? All I need is depth and time. Someone mentioned G-shock watches but to my knowledge they do not give your depth, do they? Any other recommendations also welcome.

The Uwatec bottom timer mentioned above.

You can also find the old version of that bottom timer used. They typically sell for between $75 and $100.

They are sealed, so the battery is non-replaceable.
They are old and "circling the drain", so be happy if you can get 2 or 3 years out of a used one.
They are either Metric or Imperial. Make sure about which version if buying used.

The X-Deep bottom timer is/was another.

Also look into the Liquivision Xen.

I own the Xen, it's a great bottom timer and depth gauge (downside expensive for just these two functions), however I find myself using a 20 year old Scuba pro wrist mount (analog and about $20 used) and a watch far more than anything digital.

"Gauge mode" in many computers serves just this function. Until recently I used my old Suunto Gekko as a bottom timer for tech dives by just ignoring the NDL it showed. After the first dive it "bends" and locks me out (can't plan with it and it won't display NDLs for 48 hours) but it still functions fine as a BT. Just get in the water and it will show time and depth and still log the Dive.I've also used the Xen, which is a full fledged bottom timer.

PRINCETON TECTONICS BOTTOM TIMER

A little old but they work and can be reasonably priced on eBay. I have one that I picked up back in the day for selected dives, it still works. No batteries, you wind it up.

There is no problem that can't be solved with a liberal application of sex, tequila, money, duct tape, or high explosives, not necessarily in that order.

I have a Pyle sports snorkle master watch.

Does depth and time.

Have had it down to 112 feet with no problems.

I have both a Xen and the Uwatec 330. My preference is the Xen as it has a bright readable screen but I usually keep the Uwatec puck in my dive bag for a backup.
