I think that water filled BCs could contaminate a tank very quickly. Do they make you sanitize your gear before you jump in or from one tank to the other?

Absolutely. Fresh to Salt..no problem but never mix salt to salt.
 
Interesting thread, I'm improving my swimming to hopefully qualify as a volunteer diver at the Georgia Aquarium. In know the GA Aquarium has contamination rules. I think even internally the gear has a short quarantine period between different exhibits. They also use mostly Scubapro and the evil H gear.

I was just there a couple weeks ago. That is an impressive Aquarium and even more impressive main exhibit. I have some of the pictures from there posted. Here are a couple. Whale Sharks....wow.
