Had a buddy pull a dive at 10 meters once due to pain in tooth. He never had it before. He went to a doc, got it refilled and pain did not come back. The filling was cracked.

I had a root canal and don't have any problems when diving.

fillings, root canals, crowns you name it i have it and no problems diving

My buddy and I have lots of fillings and some crowns too- over 500 dives- no problems. We do carry a little tube of dental cement just in case but never needed it.

I have fillings, and have never had a problem. My dentist is a diver himself. Never to hurts to mention to your dentist before getting dental work, that you are a diver.

Ok, I seem to be in the minority here. Did a dive a few years ago to 110ft. Felt tooth squeeze at the safety stop. It was miserable for about three days. Had the filling fixed and never had a problem again.

In all seriousness, the dreaded tooth squeeze is rare. (and mine wasn't that bad).

First time i had it was while flying, descending from a high alt mission, pain was really bad. gums were swollen for days .then during my rescue dive, both times had to redo the filling, i guess it is bad filling, cracked up filling that causes this.

Well, after taking OWD, I came home from my holiday, and got real tooth pain after a few days. The dentist found out that I had 3 old root fillings that needed special treatment(new fill, but no guarantee of the outcome ). The pressure just triggered this, I would have needed repair anyhow sometime....
So, now I have some crowns etc. but I have never experienced anything while actually diving.......
Worse with my wife, who seem to have dived with a trombosis.... anyhow, she survived(so we were both lucky), and looks forward to diving in 3 months time after going through surgery getting a new vein....(first question for the surgeon was if she were able to dive afterwards.) So since she's my buddy I guess I will be grounded a while :-)

I've got some fillings, never had any problems at all though, a filling really isn't meant to have air pockets, if it does, it's one of the rare cases where it was done improperly
