I had to use satelite internet for years before we finally got DSL where I live. DSL is faster and more reliable but if you are in an area where you can't get cable or DSL satelite is still way better than dialup.

I am doing well without it.

I have been more productive both around the house, and with my flying.

When I "need" to get online, there are plenty of places I can go to.

Actually, at the moment, I am at a coffee shop. I have used hospitals, schools, and bookstores as well.

Well, I have to use mine for work, so I don't think the coffee shop would want me setting up my office in there.
