I got one of the little log cabins. They were $60 per night. They were awesome except for no bathroom. You had to go to the bath facilities at the campsites. They are very spacious, air conditioned and really nice on the inside.

Morrisons was awesome, some of the best conditions I have ever seen there! I ended up doing 4 dives there, 2 in sidemount and 2 in singles.

that's not too bad. I like camping & have some pretty good gear, just rarely get to use it.

Camping in summer in FL can be no fun, too much humidity. catch it at the right time & it's nice, like this weekend.

For comfort & potential bad weather I have an 8 man Cabela's Alaskan Guide tent. Lived in one of those for 10 days on the north Kaibab at about 8800 feet in order to kill this buck some years ago:

The tent in the background is what we used for a cook tent, to make sure the main tent didn't get food scents on it. That's not good for when we were camping & hunting in bear country.

I had planned to camp. The thunderstorms and 2 queensize blow up mattresses, a son and his college roommate in a small tent that really wasn't made for that many people convinced me otherwise. :)

Yes, thank you for your contributions..it helped pay for my cabin

are the cabin's nicer than the Pinewood lodge is?

(I haven't stayed in the Pinewood since they changed management though.... they were pretty bad before. not sure if they've improved any or not.

the reason I quit staying in them had nothing to do with the lackluster accomadations... it was the filth and the smell of them that made me quit staying in them).

These were really much better Mike. There is only 3 of them but they overlook the water, have little porches on them and are built out of logs with ceramic tile flooring. I will definitely use them again.

have you been/stayed in the Pinewood since the new management change a couple years ago? (are they any better).

They have been updated some, like the flooring. I really preferred the log cabins. They would be perfect if they had a bathroom. :(
