DEMA cancelled New Orleans because Katrina left the city unprepared to handle big conventions during its long recovery.

I'm not a Vegas fan either.

Strange. Admittedly, my memory may be faulty, but I thought the last NOLA DEMA was in 2001 and Katrina was in 2005.

We are excited about New Orleans...

Las Vegas was fun...once. Been there, done that.

I'm assuming they have it at the convention center by the river?

There was 1 scheduled in NOLA for either 2006 or 2007, don't remember which that was moved to Orlando which is why those 2 years were in Orlando before resuming rotation with Vegas.

With sea level rising due to global climate change, maybe DEMA is thinking the entire show can be held underwater there?
