As I recall, officially, any booths can't sell anything at the site. But, in reality, I have seen and met some divers got the new equipments at the killer deal, for example, dive light, filter, etc......

So, I am wondering how this deal goes at the show this year. So, the small guys can get some deal for the personal use?

Officially booths can make sales on the floor. They have special receipts that they must give you or security will stop you on the floor or on the way out - if you don't have those sales receipts you will get escorted back to the booth. I know I had to produce some sales receipts and was impressed with how thorough they were about it.

For the most part, if your not a buyer with that special badge, your not buying anything there. Then there are a few vendors (both large and small) that will give excellent pricing to anyone who was able to get in. I'm an independent DM who works with an independent instructor. That makes it even more difficult, but there are a few vendors who understand the marketing power of those who are in contact with students, and will sell to independents all year long - not just at DEMA,. I can count those vendors on one hand if that helps...

Cheers

Steve
