Ok... I need to know what snacks? I was trying to come up with something the other day and the best thing I can is maybe the squeezable yogurts?
Go to the baby food aisle. There’s a TON of what’s essential fancy flavored applesauce in little packets with a twist off top. Some are really good. I’ll stuff a few into the pocket on my camelback. If it’s one of those dives where I’m lookin at 6-7hrs plus in the water, I’ll stuff some more in this pouch I have for deco trinkets (checkers, a kindle, a dim light, etc. creature comforts items).

I did try the chicken pot pie baby food on a dive, though. Regret. 2/10.

But for real unless your dives are stupid long it’s more hassle than it’s worth.

Honestly it wouldn't be worth it for my dives, but I like doing stuff like that with my kids. A.) it's fun / funny to watch, and B.) I think it's a step in the right direction to get them more comfortable underwater.

They're comfortable, but not "I can suck down a capri sun underwater" comfortable. Getting them to swap regs has been a no go for 2 of them, they really don't like it, but I bet they'd go for something like a capri sun... and then we're almost there.

Grapes are also very satisfying, I like them better than bananas.

Would consuming alcohol affect your ability to effectively decompress?
as a general rule of thumb, alcohol is a hugeeeeee no-no. Just avoid it for like 8 hours before you dive, and you shouldnt have to worry about it!

I must have completely misunderstood the question.
Yes this is advanced (not tech). I tend to think of myself as a somewhat advanced diver, being cave certified. I like drinking these.
My apologies.
no worries! im happy to hear what everyone has to say!

Yes, alcohol is a no-no for diving and it can dehydrate you. In the case where we were drinking on the deco bar, we were finishing up the last dive of the day and hanging between 10-20' with another 20-30 minutes to go. We weren't drinking much. Theoretically, as a blood thinner, alcohol can help with a deco/DCS, however, the impairment it might cause drinking prior or during a dive can be a serious safety factor. Some recommend taking an aspirin on deep dives as a blood thinner.

Me too... but from now on I think us advanced guys would just like to stick together. If we wanted your help you'd hear about it in the tech forum....

sheesh, the nerve I tell ya!!:)
