I posted this on the main board, but though it should go here. The attachment failed so here is the notice:

The co-hosts of The History Channel's "Deep Sea Detectives" will speak at the Seas Scuba Expo on October 14 and 15. The Expo will be held at the Durham Civic Center at the Marriott, Durham, North Carolina. John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, best known for their 57-episode television show, are also credited with the 1991 discovery and subsequent identification of the German submarine U-869 off the coast of New Jersey. This discovery has been the subject of several television documentaries including “Hitler’s Lost Sub,” a two hour special for the popular NOVA series on PBS. This same story is now a bestselling book by Robert Kurson called “Shadow Divers,” and a movie planned by director Sir Ridley Scott of “Gladiator” fame in the near future.

The Seas Scuba Expo, a SCUBA diving consumer show, offers the best opportunity in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast to attend seminars by nationally known speakers, see the latest dive gear, find out about dive travel opportunities, learn about the exciting sport of SCUBA, and meet other divers.

North Carolina diving attracts visitors from all over and is considered by dive and travel publications to be one of the best diving spots in the world. The Seas Expo will have exhibitors including dive shops and charter operators from North Carolina, South Carolina and the Carribbean to educate the public on the exciting diving opportunites in their own backyard, the “Graveyard of the Atlantic.”

Seas Expo is for divers and non-divers alike. SCUBA diving has become a mainstream activity over the past 20 years. Every year more families add diving to their vacation plans, which means dive classes now include mothers, fathers and children. The Seas Expo is designed to introduce this exciting sport to the non-diving public and will offer a chance to try SCUBA diving while at the expo.

The 2006 Seas Expo will be held at the Durham Civic Center at the Marriott, 201 Foster Street, Durham, North Carolina on Saturday and Sunday, October 14 & 15, 2006. The hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday and 11:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday. Seas Expo entry is $8 and tickets will be sold at the door. Children under 12 get in free. The Web site is www.seas-expo.com.
