Can you explain this a bit more? I dive without bailout all the time, and have done so for years. Many times I am diving vintage double hose regulators. I usually dive in a river with a current that is much greater than 2 knots (under river rapids). Having more than a single tank would be a drag issue. And I've been tangled in fishing line before; a bailout is a potential hangup on fishing line.

Are you talking about a rebreather?

We're talkin about rebreather bailout, which is a different ballgame than single tank OC scuba diving. You're good :)

I just find it amusing that a non CCR diver is assuming he has a clue as to what CCR divers "need" to have done prior to diving one deep. And yes Dan....it has become a pissing contest. Guys like Pfc piss for distance....I piss for accuracy.

Lol what Ccr do you dive? And let's lay out your certs regarding technical diving if you want to play that game.

Perhaps some Universities in US should include scuba diving as a degree course so one can grade with qualification eg. BSc with classification, MA(Sc), PhD etc etc.
A PhD from a Ivy League/OxBridge is probably better than lesser known Univ?
It is a pissing contest, isn't it?

LAR V draeger and a Mk15......

And we can do that too if you want.

When was that? Your navy days? Do a lot of deep technical stuff? I seem to remember something about you considering a revo.

edit: found it http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/ca...-diving-three-quarter-time-2.html#post7043910

So please, go on about how you don't need deep OC proficiency to dive a Ccr and how gas switches are no big deal and how you're the boss.
