is Valhalla still open to the public?
It is. I don't know what the scope of their public operations are, but one oof the LDS in the area did a trip there and has another upcoming this year. Seems too cold and dark to be of interest to me...


Their next trip after that is Cocoview which is far more appealing to me.
 
When I asked around here in Dallas, the shops pointed at Scuba Ranch in Terrell, just on the eastern edge of town. IIRC, they have a point where the depth hits 65 feet?

Also, Possum Kingdom is deep and has been used in the past for scuba training. It runs to 100', depending on upstream Brazos River flow. Drought years lake levels can drop several feet.

The deepest part of Scuba Ranch is 61’ if you stick your dive computer right against the mud.

I think NASA has a deep water pool for training. You would have to work for NASA though. :cool:
