A very very beautiful poem. Thank you for dedicating it to us. I am shocked that it fell on ears that could not appreciate it. You have a gift.

Would you mind if I wrote it down and put it with the other poems I have? I really do like it alot.

By all means. Go ahead. It is for all of you to enjoy. She turned out to be a real head case. She is now instructing in the BVI. They can have her.

If you need to talk it out I am here for you. Any woman who would toss something as beautiful as that aside needs to have their head examined. It's nice to see romance is still alive.

I wrote this one three days later for her. Our plans were for me to quit the airline and us to move to an island to dive, and dive, and dive. We had just spent an incredible evening at Sunday House in Delray Beach talking about the future. If you are not familiar, Sunday House is a Bed and Breakfast with bungalo's centered around tropical gardens and ponds. A couple months later, it was over. She did a Jeckle and Hyde on me. You gals are so very sweet and therefore I will share this one with you as well.

The Dream that Was

I lean across the table; a smell of delightful roses comes
Sparks and rockets and fireworks rise; It is her blue eyes,
Vast like the ocean; I look into her past, her future, and her soul
How many men have leaned, gazed, and dreamed the same
Wishing for love; but no, she waits…
I see this is the time; happiness, excitement, adventure pursue,
For their future is starting, and the uselessness of remembering
what no longer matters is apparent in their gaze
There is a burst of bright flame, a glorious epiphany, one, no, many of them.
The scene is transformed…
There are beautiful flowers in a garden to walk through, to share;
And for thought to wander while thinking about the luckiness of it all
A strong tree, planted in the center, from which all paths branch;
Ripples of streams and falls form the questions of what to come,
Not at all scary, but curious desires which they will to life
Creatures staring through their conscience concealed in the dream,
Like a breeze over the lily’s calling them deeper into the garden.
They will seek what is calling them, not alone, but together
For they are the reason this garden exists, the reason there are so
many paths, and the reason they will explore them all
Their playground awaits, the gazes’ eternity,
And all of this, because the dream that was.

A poem I wrote that fell on deaf ears is now dedicated you ladies that deserve it so much more.

If I were the ocean…

I would watch you lay upon my beach

All my knowledge, to you I teach

I would splash your feet, as you walk my shore

Your visits to me, I would ask no more

I would tickle your skin, as you play in my waves

Able to touch you now, you make my days

While you photograph the soaring birds

The wind would carry my loving words

I would imagine you swimming out to me

Diving down to my reef to see

I would send the dolphins to laugh and play

They are my voice for what I have to say

You see my life, my grand domain

For you, I would hold off the wind and rain

For if I were the ocean, and you came to me

I would give it all, for with you… to be

Eric you have such a talent. Please tell me you are keeping these and sharing them with others. I have saved them on my computer and will be printing them and if you permit I may frame them or put them in one of my books. Thank you again so much.
