I think that TDI's advanced NItrox manual is fairly informative because it gives you the basis of physiology as well as some of the more broad mathmatical principles..... I'm not sure how advanced of a diver you currently are but thats where I started... The courses are only as valuable as the instructor... the agency on you C-Card means very little.... Also I would reccomend that you dive and dive alot.... nothing is as good of a teacher as experience. I agree deep air is not a good thing but sometimes its all you've got... most scuba shop owners dont understand mix and most divers dont have their own personal fill station so it may be a necessary evil for you to do a few deep airs to get some time under your belt... I salute you for your efforts!
