well, it’s the price for ASIL level certification (very stringent v&v, read $$$$$ & a cobweb pipeline for CI)SRSLY, after they added boost as the 4th language and the javascript-level "stability" that comes with it, even Microsoft is no longer interested (though they have to "support" it because of all the code they're stuck with).
(Of course being Microsoft they combined the worst of C++ with the worst of garbage collection into C-whatever-you-call-this:# and it went downhill from there, so you are not necessarily worse off then us gubmint windows-jobbers.)
